The Effect of Soluble Fiber on Glucose Tolerance and Antioxidant Status in Insulin-Resistance Rats
Placebo-Controlled
Unicity Research
In this 7-week study, subjects fed a high-fat/sucrose diet to induce insulin resistance received either a proprietary soluble fruit-vegetable fiber extract or placebo. The treatment group showed a roughly 27% lower stimulated glucose response than placebo, while plasma retinol increased significantly compared with control. The researchers concluded that the soluble fiber extract may support glucose control and improve antioxidant status in insulin resistance.
