The Effects of a Proprietary Fiber Supplement on Blood Markers and Gut Bacteria
Human Study
Unicity Research
After 12 weeks of twice-daily fiber supplementation, every cardiometabolic blood marker measured was lower: blood glucose decreased 11%, HbA1c 9%, total cholesterol 10%, LDL cholesterol 9%, VLDL cholesterol 6%, TG:HDL ratio 4%, and triglycerides 2%. Microbial diversity also increased by 58%, with substantial increases in several beneficial gut bacteria, including a 38-fold increase in Lactobacillus and a 12-fold increase in Bifidobacterium.
